Why you should always be hungry when running?

December 25, 2023 by Keith Leave a Comment

Running takes up alot of energy and alot times you grab a bite BEFORE your run. What if I told you this is WRONG? You should run hungry, it’s called FASTED RUNNING. Let me explain the benefits.

Group 62

Yea, I know it sounds hard but if you want to burn fat…

Fat Burning on steroids

In a small study published in the Journal of Applied Physiology in 2011, researchers found that exercising in a fasted state increased fat oxidation during moderate-intensity exercise. (Source: “Training in the Fasted State Improves Glucose Tolerance During Fat-Rich Diet.”)

Increased Insulin Sensitivity

Here’s a handy tip for our Dustcaps with insulin resistance or diabetes. Running while fasting will improve your insulin sensitivity. This’ll be absolutely beneficial for you to push on through and be the best Dustcap you can be!

Mental Resilience

The Dustland is unpredictable, you won’t always have some reserve food in your settlement, especially in your backpack. Getting used to running without the usual energy boost from food will develop your mental resilience and adaptation as a Dustcap. Keep pushing your limits and boost your self-confidence!

Improved Training Adaptations

We didn’t think of this at first, but it turns out fasted running helps with your endurance training! When you’re running fasted, your body increases its ability to adapt to hard training. This in turn will help it adapt better to endurance training then improve your performance and endurance!💪
